Lt. Kamal Kumar Chatterjee was one of the founder member of our club, in the year 1952.
Lt. Kamal Kumar Chatterjee, Lt. Samir Chakroborty, Lt. Panna Lal Bose, Lt. Sunil Kr Banerjee, Mr. Sushil kr Ghosh, and may more formed a small club which was made of mud later they repair and renovated it with brick and named it “ SANGHA MITRA ”.
He was the only member who at the age of 78, again gave the idea of renovation and supported us to make a two storied building.
Gorabazar Sangha Mitra Club (Dum Dum Cantonment) , believes that self-reliance is the foundation of all social services. It has captured the initiative on several fronts without being dependent on government sponsorship or state-run schemes. Since last five years after saving some money from our Durga Puja Budget we started to do some Social Work. This differentiates the club from the NGOs. Charity, it is said, begins from home.
The club has promoted cleanliness through installation of plastic dustbins in the locality and also providing some training to all the local maid servants to throw garbage in the dustbin by the help of some awareness camp. Previously it was noted as all the walls of the locality was captured by the political groups however, now it is framed with wonderful caption and inspirable statements.

He is a journalist, formerly attached with Hindustan Times News paper, and now coordinator in Extra Times and also engaged with several philanthropic social activities.

He is a mechanical engineer graduated from Jadavpur. Presently working in J.K.Files India Limited ( subsidiary of Raymonds Ltd ).

Club distributed onion between low-income group of people on 27th November 2019 when the market price of 1Kg Onion had hit Rs 100.

On behalf of GORABAZAR SANGHA MITRA CLUB we launched a programme on passing a condolence message regarding our Sahid Jawans of CRPF. In front of our club premises at 6:30 pm on 15th February 2019.
Acid Attack Survivors
It was such an honour to felicitate the real #Durgas by Home Secretary, Govt Of West Bengal Mr. Atri Bhattacharjee, esp on the auspicious day of #Durga Ponchomi. By the end of the programme every single person either on stage or amongst the audience were misty eyed and choking! The club rewarded these bravehearts in the form of gifts and cash which these fighters need for their battle. We were the fortunate ones chosen to do the honours.

Gorabazar Fire Tragedy
Due to fire, and nothing was left behind so we helped the bazaar committee by donating with Rs 10,000/- in presence of Chairman of DumDum Municipality and the Secretary of the bazaar committee.
BirthDay Celebration
On 23rd, January 2018 club organized a program on "Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Birthday". Mr. Amlan Ghosh the renowned researcher of Netaji (GUMNAMI BABA OF FAIZABAD) who on that day narrated about true facts on Netaji was our chief guest.

We distributed 2000 pieces of Car Dustbin Bag all over Kolkata to keep the City Of Joy, Kolkata clean.

We organize an annual blood donation camp and arrange for free health checkup. It is open to all.

We invited a blind girl who scored good marks in her Madhyamik Exam & donated her Rs 5,000/- for higher studies.

In Nepal Earthquake we independently organized a camp, clothes, medicines &food for the affected people.

We provided Jacket, Gloves, Masks to the worker brother who tries their best to keep the city clean and smart.
